Now this is the kind of weather us golfers love.......

So finally I think its safe to say that the heat is finally here to stay.....woohoo!!! Its been getting busier and busier now that the sun is out the wind is down.....and no more snow in the forecast haha!! Its about time now hopefully we can all stop talking about the weather and start concentrating on our golf game. Or at least me anyways I dont like golfing in the cold.....so finally my game is improving more and more everytime I go out......one day would like to be shooting under 53.....now that would be sweet haha!!

So last men's night was the biggest one so far this year.....43 golfers came out to play......was a beautiful night.....with a bit of rain......but the night went well. This wednesday the forecast is a high of 28 so hopefully we have the same kind of turn out or more that would be sweet....supper will be pork chops, scalloped potatoes and vegies.

Saturday June 13th was our Par 3 tournament......was a perfect day.....the weather was beautiful with a light breeze. We had 20 teams come out and play which is 80 golfers......kept us clubhouse workers hoping all day and we so loved it. Out of all the golfers 6 of them were ladies....I am thinking we need to get some Coronach ladies out there next year to play in it...hoping I will be one of them......haha! Want to thank everyone who helped put this tournament on ......and thank you to all the volunteers who helped us in the clubhouse.

Anyways so this weekend coming up on June 20th is the Town and RM tournament......and then Fathers day tournament is on June 21st....look forward to seeing you all at the golf course!!

Wishing the weather would cooperate with us!!!

The Golf Club staff are all excited for the season to get into full swing here.....now we just need some nice weather boy oh boy....whats with the snow on May 13th, 2009 haha...come on now bring on the heat! But I have to say even with the not so nice weather we have had lots of golfers going out and thats awesome.....its been a long long winter and everyone has been anxious to get on the Golf Course! So far weather for next week looks pretty good...but I am sure that will change in about 5 minutes haha!!!

When you come into the Golf Club this year you will notice a couple new friendly faces on our staff....we would like to welcome Louanne Ingram and Brenda Obrigewitsch and back with us is Kristen Gent and myself(Tammy)....we look forward to seeing all of you down at the Golf Course. We had our first Men's night last wednesday the 6th....and even with the nasty winds we had that day we had 27 golfers come out and play it was awesome! Unfortunately due to the 80km winds and the snow and rain we are having today Mens night is cancelled for tonight Wednesday 13th. Sorry Guys!! Next Men's night will be Wednesday the 20th of May(weather permitting) supper will be Lasagne, ceasar salad and garlic toast....hope to see you all here!

Golf Course is looking great thanks to Dallas Elder, Jay Lesperance, Mike Hiltz and Logan Skinner. We would also like to thank all the volunteers who have helped the boys out on the Course as well.

One last thing for now......come check out or new ladies and men's golf shirts.......we have a variey of shirts and hats and other items. Looking forward to seeing you all down at the golf course!!!

Golf Club Newsletter - Tim Goddard

April 1 - Annual General Meeting @ 7:00pm - Curling Rink Lounge
Financial Statement Presentation
Election of Directors
Fund-Raising Activates
Recently the Board has been discussing the purchase of a tee box mower, $23,000. The one we are reviewing can be used as a back-up for other mowers. The motor went on our old one (1974) at the end of the season in 2008. By the Annual General Meeting we expect to have made a decision on a mower. Also a 5% increase to Membership Fees has been approved by the Board. Please plan to attend our Annual General Meeting, bring your ideas on how we can improve your golfing experience.

April 11 - Texas Hold-em Poker Tournament (See our ad at the end of this email)

In 2008 our two tournaments combined with the 50/50 draws raised in excess of $2000. With most of our poker supplies purchased, an additional $1000 will be raised in 2009 and applied toward utilities of the Golf Club. We see these tournaments as an option to increase income from additional sources, hopefully to minimize golf fee increases. Thank you to everyone who has contributed and participated in 2008.

This year we are asking for additional help, now with food donations. In 2008 we purchased meat & cheese trays as snack food for players and volunteers. Sheila and I have volunteered a big slow cooker of chili. We would like other volunteers for chili, slow roasted sliced beef, fresh buns and dessert squares. All you donations will help with the financial stability of the Golf Club.

If you can help out with food donations, as a dealer or as a volunteer to work around the tournament, please call me at 476-2396 or drop me an email at tim.goddard@sasktel.net.

NEW THIS YEAR...TEXAS HOLD'EM 101. If you are interested in joining us for a fun game of Texas Hold'em Poker and learn the basics of the game...we are planning a FREE game with no prizes at 4:00 pm on April 11, just prior to registration to the Charity Tournament. Attending the TEXAS HOLD'EM 101 will not require you to enter the Charity Tournament.

April 24 & 25 - Trade Fair Booth with Coronach Tourism

Plan to drop by and enter your name for a free round of golf and other promotional items. You can also pay your fees at this time.

June 6 - Watch for details of an excellent fund-raising opportunity for the Club
